ISBN 978-83-953941-6-4 Introduction It is not easy to outline the history of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, considering 56 years of its existence. It is more than half a century. We were motivated to issue this publication by the ceremony of awarding the first graduates of the Faculty with Gold Diplomas. Gold Diplomas commemorate the 50th anniversary of obtaining DVM diplomas. We wanted to remind ourselves - the 1972 graduates - the Faculty of our study times, and to see how it has changed over the years. A certain facilitation in creating this study was the fact that the authors are graduates of the Olsztyn Veterinary Faculty, and the first of them worked there 1972-2018. This book contains a chronologically drawn database on the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Olsztyn. It goes back to its beginnings, brings the developmental stages closer and shows its or ours mature age. It commemorates not only events, but also the people who created them. It reflects the actual state of affairs based on the collected literature and reports of the employees. It is protecting history from oblivion. Above all, it is our gift to the Faculty staff and its graduates. The authors thank the Działdowo District Administration for help in publishing this book and the Tinta Printing House in Działdowo for its efficient and quick printing.
